Abstract (EN)

Water structures are significant for our country and world in terms of usage areas. It is important that the research studies of such important structures are carried out completely during the project stages. Throughout history, it has been observed in dams the number of problems such as deformation, seepage, even collapse that has been caused loss of life due to technical mistakes. It is important to carefully analyze the geological structure underlying the water structures in every sense, to reveal the geological cross-section completely and to determine the geotechnical parameters. Detailed information about the engineering mechanism of the geological structures can help determine the parameters of foundation such as low-strength and permeability stages. This situation should be revealed by experience, appropriate research, experimentation and analysis. Another situation is the seepage prevention methods to be applied to the foundation on which tha dam constructed. The selection of the appropriate method is crucial in terms of suitability to the project safety and cost impact. In the scope of the thesis, after the seepage preventation methods applied to the foundation of the water structure to be built on permeable soils are described, the slurry-trench method is explained in detail and the İnandık Dam is shown as a case study. In this research, as a result of the field and laboratory studies in the Inandık Dam, geotechnical data that accurately represent the field were obtained and seepage analyzes were carried out for the project in question. In these seepage analyzes, by using computer programs, Geostudio Seep/w and Rockscience Slide 6.0, after modeling how the water accumulated in the cofferdam upstream water travels throughout the slurry-trench, alluvium and rock mass, and the amount of seepage can reach the excavation pit next to the dam body has been calculated.
