Abstract (EN)
mı ABSTRACT The aim of the present study was to determine the effect of copper accumulation in the liver, spleen, kidney, muscle, testis and brain tissues oîMus musculus var albinus on the quantitative protein levels in these tissues, on the muscle and liver glycogen levels and on some blood parameters. Accumulation of copper increased with increasing concentrations of copper which was administered orally and subcutanly. Copper accumulation in the tissues were higher in subcutan injection compared with oral injection. Among the tissues studied highest accumulation of copper was observed in liver, while accumulation was lowest in muscle tissue. Tissue protein level increased with increasing copper accumulation levels, except the muscle tissue in which a decrease was observed. In both oral and subcutan administrations, increased concentrations of copper injected caused a decrease in liver and muscle glycogen levels and an increase in sera glucose, total protein and cholesterol levels.
