Comment Of Sûdî Of Hâfız-ı Şirâzi Divânı (Between 49b-75a pages)

Ḥāfeẓ-e Shīrāzī[1326 - 1389]- a 14th-century poet who was born and lived his entire life in Shiraz, Iran- was acclaimed not only in Iran but also throughout the world literature. His profound poetry had a great deal of influence on Persian literature as well as Turkish literature. His only work Dīvān made him famous around the world and was translated into many languages including Turkish. There are numerous Turkish commentaries on Dīvān, one of which is written by Sûdî Bosnevî. The main purpose of this thesis is to transl iterate the sheets 49b-75a of Sûdî's Sharh-I Dīvān-I Hāfez (Commentary of the Dīvān of Hāfez) into Latin alphabet. This thesis consists of an introduction, two chapters, conclusion, bibliography, index, and glossary. The meaning of commentary is provided and the commentary tradition in the Ottoman era, as well as the lives and works of both Ḥāfeẓ-e Shīrāzī and Sûdî Bosnevî, are briefly discussed in the introduction. The first chapter provides information on grammar terms, literary devices, personas, locales, names of prophets, and books that were mentioned in the transliterated parts of Sûdî's commentary. The second chapter, which is the main focus of this thesis, presents the transliteration of sheets 49b-75a of Sûdî's Sharh-Iı Dīvān-I Hāfez (Commentary of the Dīvān of Hāfez) into Latin alphabet. This thesis is finalized by presenting the conclusion, bibliography, index, and glossary sections.
