Abstract (EN)

This study has been carried out to explore ELT students? perceptions,attitudes towards electronic portfolio as a learning and assessment tool, to investigatetheir experiences in participating electronic portfolio development process, topropose an electronic portfolio development model for educators and students, and togive them some ideas about design and implementation of electronic portfolios in theclassroom. The study was conducted at Gazi University, English Language TeachingDepartment. The participants of the study were 26 students attending the first year ofthe ELT Department. In this study, we conducted electronic portfolio developmentproject for two months. Two questionnaire were employed to elicit students?experiences, perceptions and attitudes.The first chapter attempts to give the background to the study as well as theaim, scope, research questions and assumptions of the study. The second chapterreviews literature relevant to the subject. In the third chapter methodology of thestudy is presented. In this chapter the data collection techniques used in the presentstudy are introduced and the interpretation of the need analysis and post tests arepresented along with remarks on the results. Chapter four aims to present thesuggested electronic portfolio development model. The fifth chapter includes a briefsummary of the present study.Key Words: Traditional Assessment, Alternative Assessment, Portfolio,Electronic Portfolio.
