Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the sustainability and integrated activity reports of the 30 companies with the highest trading volume and market capitalization, whose shares are traded on Borsa Istanbul (BIST-30), emphasizing sustainable human resources management. The research examines the emphasis placed on sustainability practices implemented by companies for their employees, particularly focusing on the training and development function of human resources management. In this context, sustainability is explained through its conceptual dimension and historical development, and the evolution of human resources management to the present day and the concept of sustainable HR are evaluated to shed light on practical application. As part of the research, the sustainability and integrated activity reports for the 2022-2024 period of 30 companies with the highest trading volume and market capitalization, whose shares are traded on Borsa Istanbul, were examined qualitatively and quantitatively through content analysis. The obtained data were plotted in matrix graphs, and comparative assessments were conducted using azimuthal projection as a reference. This revealed the approaches of the companies constituting the study population to sustainability and human resources. The study findings reveal differences in emphasis among BIST-30 companies regarding sustainability, human resources management, and training and development. Azimuthal projection displays integrated into matrix charts clearly demonstrate a diversity in the frequency of emphasis placed on training and development, as well as sustainability. This diversity revealed by the displays demonstrates that sustainability and integrated activity reports are not only informative tools but also documents that strategically reflect companies' people-focused approaches, visions, and strategic priorities. These documents enable the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of data focused on sustainability and human resources within the scope of content analysis. The evaluation clearly demonstrates the frequencies of emphasis obtained; in this respect, it aims to both determine the current situation and serve as a guiding reference for future research, HR professionals, and career-planning candidates.
