The role of civil society organizations in the goal of sustainable development: The case of Bursa province

The concepts of sustainability and sustainable development have become frequently discussed and researched topics in recent years. Civil society and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) constitute the most crucial pillar of sustainable development. Through their involvement, sustainable development transitions from being solely state-driven to encompassing broader societal participation, yielding more effective results. This study examines the role of NGOs in sustainable development initiatives. Bursa province was selected as the case study, and the contributions of NGOs in the region to sustainable development efforts were analyzed. The findings of the study are compiled and presented.
