Abstract (EN)

In this doctoral thesis, the electrochemical aziridination of alkenes using 3-aminoquinazolinone derivatives was investigated within the framework of a sustainable chemistry approach. Aziridines, as three-membered nitrogen heterocycles, possess high reactivity and serve as valuable intermediates with wide applications in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and polymer industries. Initially, 3-aminoquinazolinone derivatives were synthesized and subsequently subjected to aziridination reactions under both chemical and electrochemical conditions. In the electrochemical experiments, different cell systems, solvents, and electrolytes were examined to optimize the reaction efficiency, and the obtained products were characterized using FT-IR, NMR, and mass spectroscopy. While chemical methods provided high yields with pronounced diastereoselectivity, the electrochemical reactions exhibited limited stereoselectivity. This outcome indicates the need for further mechanistic investigations and improvements in electrochemical system design. In conclusion, this study demonstrates the potential of electrochemical aziridination as a green and sustainable synthetic method, although further development is required to achieve higher stereoselectivity.
