Investigation of science contents of children periodicals in terms of history of science

In this research, it was aimed to investigate the science journal periodicals published regularly by TUBITAK in terms of science history between the years 2000-2018. In this context the importance given to the help books used in science education in the related literature has been a great influence on researcher to choose this topic. Many alternative methods and resources are used in the field of science. It is also a separate field of work to determine the resources to serve this purpose and to control their quality. The study was carried out using a document review technique, which is a qualitative approach by the researcher. Within the scope of the study, all the numbers of Bilim Çocuk, published between 2000 and 2018, were accessed through the Internet by being a member of the official address of the magazine and the sections within the scope of science history were determined and classified. At the final stage of the research, a document review was carried out by a scale developed by Wang and Marsh (2002) and adapted by Yıldız (2013). When the research results are examined; Scientific Journal has been found to be sufficient in conceptual and procedural sense, but limited in context to some areas. In addition, it was observed that the area devoted to the history of science between 2000 and 2005 spread over a large area compared to the contents of the magazine, but after 2005, this situation gradually decreased and it started to be composed of one or two pages.
