After the civil war in Syria, the assessment of the life quality and future prospects of Syrian refugees in Turkey

People who migrate to other countries may experience difficulties in building expectations on the future, living a quality life and adapting to the society in which they migrate. It is thought that the future expectation and quality of life are of great importance for the welfare of the refugees and the country where they will reside permanently. For these reasons, this study aims to evaluate the future expectations and quality of life of the Syrians according to their shelter areas. Based on these reasons, a survey was conducted for the Syrian refugees regarding the migration process, the adaptation of the Syrians to Turkish society and their future expectations. An internationally valid scale developed by WHO was used to evaluate quality of life. As a result of the research, it is seen that 49.8% of the Syrians think that the future will be good.. Expectations on the future are moderate. It was found that the rate of looking at the future with hope in the camp was better than out of the camp. While this rate is 58,8% in the camps, it is 48,1% outside the camps. Quality of life score obtained as a result of the scale is 3,21±0,52. This corresponds to the intermediate level. There is no significant difference between the inside of the camps and the outside of the camps in terms of the quality of life obtained from the general scale. Significant differences were found in terms of environmental quality of life between the inside and outside of the camps. There is a significant difference between the in-camp and out-of-camp questions regarding the quality of life questioned on the basis of the single question. Environmental quality of life is 2,98±0,61 in the camp, 3,13±0,56 out of camps. In terms of perceived quality of life in the single question, 2,89±0,73 in-camps and 3,20±0,80 points out of camps were obtained.
