Abstract (EN)

In this study, 5083 - H111 aluminum alloy sheets of 5mm thickness were used. In order to examine the mechanical and microstructural properties of the joints, aluminum alloy plates were combined by friction mixing welding method with three sets of revolutions (600, 1200, 1600) and three welding speeds (50, 100, 200). The welding process was made with a tool made from 2738 whose raw material is plastic mold steel. The joining operations were performed on a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) mechine. TAGUCHI method was used for source parameter optimization. Weld quality was determined by internal structure examination, micro hardness measurements and tensile tests.
