Abstract (EN)
In this study, the bearing capacity and settlement behavior of the T-shaped footings were experimentally investigated. Different combinations of skirt structured footings were studied with the laboratory model tests. The tests were conducted in loose and dense sand conditions and loadings were adapted axially and eccentrically. Load settlement curves were drawn using a total of 138 model tests and then collapse mechanisms were obtained. The effects of these additional skirt structures on the model footing have been examined. The experimental results showed that the additional skirted parts of the footing decrease the footing settlement and increase the bearing capacity. Key Words: T-shaped footings, skirting, eccentric loading, axial loading.
