Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the effect of individuals' cultural consumption patterns on the tendency in food preferences. Firstly, consumer profiles were determined by categorizing the food consumption preferences of individuals within the framework of stratification theory Afterwards, the cultural consumption patterns of the emerging groups were revealed by using the cultural omnivore variable. The population of this research consists of individuals living in Ankara. After calculating the number of samples to represent the universe, 601 people were reached with the convenience sampling method. As a result of the analysis, food preferences were grouped as traditional to postmodern, traditionalists, yesayers, modernists, hedonists and weight controlers. Looking at the results regarding the cultural omnivorousness variable, it is seen that the participants who prefer world cuisine and fine dining restaurants like and prefer classical western music.
