Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to contribute to market segmentation studies, which allow the detailed analysis of demand in the globalizing world, and which are increasingly needed in the field of marketing, by examining socio-economic structure grouping and measurement techniques. In this context, within the scope of the study, first of all, information about the grouping criteria used in market segmentation and their advantages and disadvantages are given. Then, the main socio-economic structure grouping criteria and their widespread measurement and evaluation methods, first in the world and then in Turkey, were examined. As a result of these examinations, the reasons underlying the failure to establish the required socio-economic grouping standard in terms of global, regional structures in the world and individual countries have been listed. Evaluations and suggestions that will shed light on future studies in order to eliminate the current deficiencies and problems in this subject are listed. Keywords: Demand Analysis, Socio-economic Structure, Socio-economic Grouping, SES Scale, Market Research.
