Abstract (EN)
The long-term field experiment was established in 1996 at Çukurova University, Faculty of Agriculture, in the Field of Research and Application Area. The experiment was set up with 5 applications (control, mineral fertilizer, animal manure, compost and compost + mycorrhiza) with 3 replications according to a randomized plot design. The research aims to examine the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizers application on lettuce plant root development and CO2 release into the atmosphere, the amount of organic carbon held in the soil. In animal manure applied plots more carbon was fixed by photosynthesis than in control plots, and also more carbon and nitrogen were sequestrated into the soil. At harvest, the total and organic carbon (OC) concentrations were measured, and the highest OC was measured under organic fertilizer applications and the lowest was obtained in the control plots. The highest total nitrogen value was obtained in the animal manure applied plots. In terms of carbon/nitrogen ratio, the highest results were generally obtained in the organic fertilizers applied plots. In general, it has been determined that more CO2 is released into the atmosphere in the environment where compost, animal manure, and mycorrhizal application with root zone microorganism richness is applied. While it was seen that the effect of organic fertilizers applications on the root morphological characteristics was high. It was observed that the animal manure applied plants have the highest root infection rates. Organic fertilizer application also increased plant tissue P and Zn concertation.
