Abstract (EN)
In this study titled "Oral Literature of Tarsus Arabs", the Arabic oral literature tradition of Tarsus Arab Alawis and the compilation and analysis of the prose, verse and verse-prose genres that make up this tradition, and the comparative analysis of the place of the Arabic oral literature products in the general Arab folk literature tradition in terms of similarities and differences, it has been investigated. In this way, it is aimed to keep alive Arabic oral literature products, which have preserved their existence for generations in folk culture, by compiling, classifying, analyzing, evaluating and recording from the research field. During the compilation of the research material, the field research method and observation and interview techniques within this method were used. Arabic in Tarsus Arab Alawis who use Arabic from the Syrian-Latakia region, it has lost its effect in daily life for various reasons and it has become a language used by people over the age of fifty. As long as it continues like this, it is inevitable that language death will occur in the near future. However, Tarsus Arab Alawis have preserved some of the Arabic oral literature products that they verbally transmitted from generation to generation, although most of it is forgotten. It was understood that the oral literature produced about the practices frequently encountered by the society such as death and marriage is more common than other types of oral literature and its number is higher with its variants. In addition, it has been observed that the language used in oral literature products contains less Turkish vocabulary element than the language used in daily life, and oral literature products generally preserve the unique structure of Arabic folk literature.
