Abstract (EN)
The global problems of the 21st century affect not only the natural sciences but also the social sciences, humanities and design fields with the changing social structure. The knowledge of a single discipline is insufficient to solve these complex problems. Thus, new academic approaches to interdisciplinary interaction in the world have been introduced. Transdisciplinarity is one of these approaches. The transdisciplinary approach, to address global issues such as climate issues, sustainability and refugee issues, argues that these global problems should be looked at from a holistic perspective by conducting a joint study of disciplines. Transdisciplinarity is not only an academic approach but at the same time its a manner and attitudes. Focal point of this thesis is to understand the concept of transdisciplinarity and to determine Turkey's place in design education in the world. With this thesis, which is the beginning of the work related to the transdisciplinary approach, is aimed to create a new perspective in the field of design education in Turkey and to contribute to progress towards the becoming one of the world's leading countries on the subject of transdisciplinary design education. Key Words: Transdisciplinary, Design, Design Education, Interdisciplinary
