Effect of different forced moulting methods on egg quality and yield performance in chickens

This research was carried out to determine the effects of molting on yield performance and egg quality with different feeding methods in ATAK-S domestic commercial laying hybrids. In the research, 4 different feeding methods were applied. The forced grouping method was applied in the form of feeding the first group control group, second group marble powder, third group barley and fourth group clover flour. In the research, egg yield, egg weight, feed consumption and feed utilization values, internal and external quality of eggs were determined. After molting with four different molting forced methods, the 2nd-period egg cage feed was started. Egg production was determined as 64.59%, 62.95%, 62.04% and 67.80% in control, marble powder, barley and alfalfa flour groups, respectively, and it was higher in alfalfa flour and control groups (P<0.05). Egg weight was found to be similar between the groups as 65.59, 66.24, 65.40 and 66.00 g respectively. Daily feed consumption in the experimental groups was 140.24, 134.40, 127.37 and 137.10 g, and feed conversion was determined as 3.47, 3.13, 3.76 and 2.90. Among the external quality features, only the differences in breaking resistance were found important in egg quality. There was no difference between Shell thickness, shape index and egg weight (P>0.05). Considering the internal quality features, the difference there was no between Ak Index (%), Yellow Index (%), H.B. and Ak pH. Egg yellow color L, a* and b* values, only a* significant difference was determined in terms of value. In conclusion, it can be said that alfalfa flour application is more advantageous when the yield performance of the application of different molting methods in ATAK -S domestic commercial layer hybrids is examined in the second yield year
