Abstract (EN)

In today's business world, organizations are aware that the critical point to create competitive advantage and improve their business performance is to improve their core processes. Supply chain management is a collection of processes formed by the combination of core and critical processes of organizations. It is an accepted fact that competition is between supply chains of organizations rather than organizations. Therefore effectual supply chain management (SCM) has become a key to improve organizational performance (OP) and secure competitive advantage (CA). This study conceptualizes and develops five dimensions of SCM (strategic supplier partnership, customer relationship, level of information sharing, quality of information sharing, and postponement) and tests the relationships among SCM processes, organizational performance and competitive advantage. Data for the study were obtained from diffrent type companies in Turkey and the relationships suggested in the framework were tested. The results show that advanced SCM applications are the key to achieving enhanced competitive advantage and enhanced enterprise performance. In parallel, the belief that competitive advantage has a positive and direct effect on organizational performance was also supported by the results. Based on this information, it can be said that these research results, which emphasize the importance of effective SCM, have value for both the business world and the academic world.
