Use analytic hierarchy process in supplier selection problems; an application on electronic product supplier selection

Decision on supplier selection is one of the most important factors in the success of a company. The choice of suitable suppliers will make it easier for companies to compare their purchasing costs by reducing the cost of purchasing. Decision making in the selection of suppliers is an activity that many businesses have done in all business areas. This is a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem if many criteria need to be considered for supplier selection. The best solution to these problems is to use the CRLF methods. In this study, supplier selection problems were investigated in technological products which are the fixtures of universities. The AHP method has been preferred because it has been shown that numerical data and priorities are most appropriate among many decision making techniques. The AHP method was used to determine the importance of the main criteria and sub-criteria. The proposed approaches provide a precise assessment among the MCDM methods. In 1971 Thomas L.Saaty used the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to plan for possible problems. Since 1973, AHP has begun to be implemented in many areas. AHP is a method of determining and comparing the superior aspects of alternatives using the relevant selection phase. In the study, it was aimed to determine the supplier selection stages and the problems encountered at these stages to reduce the mistakes the most. In the first part of the study, supply chain management is explained. In the second part, information on supplier selection and multi-criteria decision making methods are given. In the third chapter, information is given about how to work. In the fourth chapter, the application process of AHP is mentioned and the criteria for selection are explained, implementation and study are concluded.
