Abstract (EN)
Legends, significant yet increasingly fading products of narrative-based folk literature, are narrative texts associated with specific individuals, events, or places, reflecting a society's cultural codes, moral judgments, historical memory, and geographical perception. This study examines the rich legendary narratives belonging to the Teke Region, located in the Western Mediterranean Region of Turkey and distinguished by its unique cultural texture, within the context of their potential interactions with the Sustainable Development Goals defined in the United Nations' 2030 Agenda. These legends, internalizing the deep relationships established by the local people with the natural environment, social structure, and future perspective, offer significant insights into a philosophy of sustainable living. Accordingly, the legends from written sources located in the provinces of Antalya, Burdur, Denizli, Isparta, and Muğla within the Teke Region have been investigated through qualitative research methodology. The legends from the written sources that form the basis of the study have been analyzed within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals, and the findings obtained have been presented using data visualization techniques.
