Abstract (EN)

Marmara Region embodies important industrial zones. It is also an inland sea that provides transition between the Black Sea and the Aegean. However, there is an increase in pollution due to the transition water in the Marmara Sea and the industrial areas it contains. Most industrial zones discharge the wastewater it produces into streams that reach the sea or stream without any treatment. Within the scope of the thesis study, 12 water samples were taken from the sea surface water in 7 locations determined between the basin points pouring into the Marmara Sea between Tekirdağ and Küçükçekmece Lakes, where the basin mixes with the sea and where it mixes with the sea. The samples were examined in terms of physical (pH, salinity, conductivity, dissolved oxygen) and chemical (inorganic pollutants Al, B, Cu, Fe, Al, Mn, Zn). Consequently these examinations, it was observed that the parameters of the Marmara Sea did not exceed the limit values in the regulation, and there was an excessive increase in the boron element especially in Büyükçekmece and Küçükçekmece lakes. Due to the abundance of boron resources in our country, the reason for this is thought to be mixed with water.
