Abstract (EN)

In our country, especially in recent years, it has been observed that science and technology intersect and new teaching approaches are used by integrating technology into science teaching. One of the new teaching approaches used to make science teaching effective is the technology-supported argumentation method. Argumentation is a whole of communication in which students clearly express the reasons supporting their opinions based on their prior knowledge, present opposing evidence to support the accuracy of their thoughts, and make rebuttals. In order for effective science teaching to take place, students need to produce strong arguments and use data to defend their ideas, justification or refutation with opposing arguments. This study aims to examine the effect of the technology-supported argumentation method on the creativity, argumentation skills and conceptual understanding levels of sixth grade secondary school students regarding the support-motion system and digestive system issues. Students constitute the sample of the study. In the study, students in 1 branch of the 6th grade constitute the experimental group, and students in 1 branch constitute the control group. The application lasts approximately 2 weeks; While the experimental 1 group students will cover the Support-Movement System and Digestive System topics of the 6th grade "Systems in Our Body" unit with technology-supported argumentation activities, the control group students will cover this unit with non-argumentation activities according to the Ministry of Education Science curriculum. A pre-test post-test control group quasi-experimental design will be used in the research. It will be determined whether there is a difference in the use of technology-supported argumentation method in teaching science courses in terms of students' academic success, argumentation skills and creative thinking. It is thought that the combination of new methods and technology in the Digestive System and Support-Movement System will contribute to the academic success and creative thinking of students.
