Abstract (EN)
The rapid evolution of technology is profoundly transforming society, the nature of jobs, and the work environment. Advanced technology has recently been integrated into many sectors and institutions, including private and government institutions in Turkey. These technologies offer various benefits, including operational efficiency and time savings. On the other hand, they might be related to multiple employee work related outcomes. This study explores technology's adverse consequences and how much could be alleviated. More specifically, the impact of techno-stress on employee burnout was examined. Also, a manager's skills could shape this association between technostress and burnout. In this regard, this research examines the moderating role of managers' - supervisors' technology-related competencies on employees' technostress-triggered burnout. The data were analyzed using SPSS and various statistical methods, including descriptive statistics, factor analysis, normality tests, correlation analysis, and simple and multiple regression analyses. As a result of the study, it was found that the perceived techno-stress of the personnel was positively and significantly associated with burnout. Contrary to expectations, supervisors' technological competence did not have a moderator role in the relationship between techno-stress and employee burnout. By understanding the factors contributing to techno-stress and burnout, supervisors can play a significant part in creating a healthier and more productive work environment, increasing productivity, and improving employee and citizen satisfaction. Also, this study addresses the importance of careful integration of technology, which makes it easier for employyes to embrace technological transformation in their workplaces.
