Abstract (EN)

Textile is one of the sectors that has provided the driving force in achieving development and prosperity since the establishment of the Republic of Turkey. Textile finishing processes are costly processes that require large amounts of electricity, fuel and water, as well as processes that create air and water pollution due to greenhouse gas emissions and wastewater loading. Dye bleaching/removal is one of the processes that is not a routine production step in textile dyehouses but creates the most wastewater pollution. Textile finishing processes are based on the principle of binding dyestuffs and chemicals to the fiber under certain temperature and pressure. In these processes, problems occur in ensuring the acceptance of the color due to reasons such as misinterpretation of the color sample or color coordinates approved by the customer, recipe errors, laboratory-operation differences. This error must be corrected, in other words, disassembled, so that it does not reduce or completely eliminate the economic value of the product. In this study, in addition to reducing sugar, molasses, sodium dithionite and these reducing substances, color removal was carried out by UV treatment. After the color stripping process, the capillarity test of the samples, color measurement values, K/S values, dye stripping rate and redox potential of the stripping baths were measured. The effectiveness of the process was tried to be explained by FTIR analyzes of samples decolorized under various conditions.
