Abstract (EN)

The purpose of the present research is to find out elementary teachers' and pupils' motivation levels and to investigate relationships between and among levels of motivation and some student characteristics like gender, parents' occupation, and some teacher characteristics like, age field of study, experience, and gender. Teacher (n=40) and pupils (n=1282) chosen by stratified random strategy participated at the research. Data was collected by "Teacher Motivation Scale" and "Success/ Failure Attributions Scale". Major results of the study are: 1. Female teacher are significantly more motivated than male teachers. 2. Teachers' levels of motivation do not differ significantly according to their experience, age, school graduated and field of study. 3. Pupils' levels of motivation differ significantly according to their gender and parents' occupation. 4. Increase in pupils' levels of motivation is releated to teacher's success whereas decrease is releated to their own charateristics.
