The comprehension of visual balance in the basic education of visual art

The comprehension of visual balance in the Basic Education of Visual Art is very important. Because the balance concept is one of the main elements of designing and it is also covering all other fundamentals.By using balance in art, visual congruity and entirety can be ensured. By the way, the study will increase the delight that we got from the piece and it also let us to perceive the art as whole.The method that used in this study is to compare effect of ?visual balance concept? before and after its explanation and implementation in schools. After the necessery research that can be useful for the implementation of balance concept, we adapted them to the levels of students that took part in our sample. Implementation was made by using two stages and to primary school students who were attending first part of primary education. In the first stage, students drawed a specific subject without explanation of balance concept, after this step, the balance concept explained to the students and our study moved to second stage. In this stage students drawed same subject by using balance concept. In this study the way of the drawing and the instruments that drawing thecnic need was free. As a result, in perception of the subject, we observed differences according to levels and ages of the students. The students who are younger was restricted by the balance concept that they used in their daily life.Generally this study is successfull for proving the effect of balance concept that is supported by nutshelly colouration, contrast and composition effect usage.
