Abstract (EN)

Since 1980?s there have been significant changes in the market conditions with the globalization. The political, social, cultural and economical barriers have been abolished. With these changes local markets has been replaced by global markets. In this competitive environments to compete, to lead during competition is getting more and more difficult. So companies have to improve their own core competencies and resources which is rare, cannot easily imitated and substitutable. Combining these core competencies with the alliances creates a competitive advantage. In conclusion, the aim of the study is the importance of core competencies in formation of strategic alliances. Companies can go for strategic alliances for entering to the global markets and for providing sustainable competitive advantages. All the companies are different from each other and have different core competencies. They have different weaknesses and strengths. The alliances can give them the chance to compensate their weaknesses and to enforce their strengths. Here the affects of the core competencies of strategic alliances on strategic performance plays a curtail role. Consequently, it has been examined that the importance of core competencies in formation of strategic alliances and it?s affects on strategic performance. In this study, to be able to show the importance of core competencies on strategic alliances and affect on strategic performance, TARİŞ Cotton Corporation and OPET strategic alliance is being analyzed.
