Abstract (EN)
As everything in the World has a life and size, machine parts have a life, too. Life cycle of machine parts and tools is limited because of wear and corrosion. Therefore, the effort to prevent wear and corrosion gains a huge importance economically day by day in the World market. New generation tool steels are tried to be produced in order to get rid of these problems and to prolong tool lives. Enhancing the properties of tools' surfaces like wear and corrosion is considered more economic and practical in comparison with changing the materials in the tools with more expensive ones, and works in this sence are performed. Therefore, a huge improvement in hard ceramic coating has been observed in recent years. In this study, it is aimed to enhance the lives of tools and produce more durable materials by checking the hardness properties using AISI cool work tool steel Thermo – Reactive Diffusion (TRD) technique. For this purpose, the samples in size of 10x10x10mm were coated by FeTi using TRD technique, and at the same time hard carbide layers with high wear resistance were formed.
