Abstract (EN)

In this study, a cryogel column was prepared for selective tetracycline (TC) adsorption. The cryogel was prepared by embedding TC-imprinted poly(hydroxyethyl methacrylate-N-methacryloyl-L-glutamic acid methyl ester [poly(HEMA-MAGA)] particles into poly(hydroxyethyl methacrylate) [PHEMA] cryogel. TC-imprinted poly(HEMA-MAGA) particle embedded cryogel [PHEMA-MIP] was characterized by FTIR, SEM ve BET analyzes. The PHEMA-MIP cryogel was used for TC adsorption from aqueous solution. The effects of flow rate, pH, initial TC concentration, contact time and ionic strength on adsorption capacity were investigated. The maximum TC adsorption capacity was determined as to 680 mg TC/g at 25oC (pH 5,0). Amoxicillin and ciprofloxacin were used to determine the selectivity of the PHEMA-MIP cryogel. Adsorption data were fitted by using izoterm and kinetic models via lineer and non-lineer equations. The data were well fitted with Freundlich isotherm model. The adsorption process obeyed both pseudo-second-order and intraparticle diffusion kinetic models. ΔHo and ΔSo values were determined as -5,306 kJ/mol and 0,0656 kJ/mol.K, respectively. ΔGo (kJ/mol) values were -23,477, -24,067 ve -24,854 kJ/mol for 4oC, 13oC and 25oC, respectively. Thermodynamic parameters showed that TC adsorption onto the PHEMA-MIP cryogel was exothermic and spontaneous.
