Abstract (EN)
Introduction: The Diabetes Obstacles Questionnaire helps to determine the problems encountered with their illness by Type 2 diabetic patients in daily life and the purpose of this study was to adapt this questionnaire to Turkish and to perform validity and reliabilityy analysis. Method: This was a methodological study planned to adapt the Diabetes Obstacles Questionnaire (DOQ) to the Turkish language and to carry out validity and reliability analysis. After obtaining the necessary permission and making the translation, the questionnaire was applied to 400 type 2 diabetes patients, who had been diagnosed at least one year previously, in the endocrinology polyclinic of Manisa Government Hospital and the endocrinology polyclinic of Hafsa Sultan Hospital in Celal Bayar University. The WHOQOL- 8 quality of life questionnaire was applied along with the DOQ in order to examine the extent of correspondence with a scale which measures similar concepts. The program SPSS 15. 0 for Windows was used for data analysis. In the validity analysis, the structural validity of the questionnaire was first tested and for this explanatory and corrective factor analysis was performed. In criterion validity, the severity of the ilness, the treatment regime used, gender, age and education level were expected to be discriminatory factors on the scale and so test was used for analysis of dependent groups and one- way variance analysis was used for independent groups. In order to assess the reliability of the scale, the coefficient of internal consistence (The Cronbach Alpha Value) was examined and in order to evaluate the relation of each item to dimension, the item- total correlations and the internal cinsistence coefficients when items were deleted were evaluated. Also, the items of the questionnaire were applied again to 30 people after a gap of at most 1- 2 weeks and test- retest analysis as performed. When this was done, intraclass correlation coefficients were examined. Results: DOQ, reliability in finding some of the ingredients we look at the scale of sub-dimensions for which non-compliance with the terms of reliability has been removed. DOQ subscales Cronbach's Alpha coefficients were determined to vary between 0.633- 0846. DOQ 'is a good level of internal consistency of nudes. As a result of sub-dimensions of the test-retest intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) ranged from 0.97 0.86-. From this perspective, the concept of scale can measure the stable and unchanging. DOQ giving rise to a scale that is similar to the concept of measuring quality of life scale WHOQOL-8 show a significant correlation with the DOQ criteria indicate that ensures the validity. DOQ AF resulted in a KMO value in terms of factor structure create a sufficient sample size to have a sub-dimensions explained variance percentages over 40%, which is produced number of factors of the original scale similarity was found. Construct validity is incompatible values, but the results are acceptable levels. Scale with many diabetes-related health status and behaviors are able to distinguish attitude. From this perspective, the scale is able to differentiate. Scale for the assessment of patient and treatment compliance, can be used in the planning of nursing care can be considered as a scale. DOQ is a reliable and valid for Turkish society. Keywords: Type 2 diabetes, Obstacles in diabetes, Quality of Life, validity- reliability
