Abstract (EN)
Ti6Al4V alloy is a super alloy which is used widely in biomedical, aerospace and automotive industry due to its low density, high strength, high heat and corrosion resistance properties. To know the impact behavior of Ti6Al4V material is necessary when the area of usage is considered. In this study, impact behavior of Ti6Al4V material at low velocity was investigated. The impactor geometry and impact energy which affecting factors of the impact strength was taken as variable. Also three different heat treatment (aging, cryogenic treatment and aging after cryogenic treatment) are applied to materials. According to the obtained results, the cryogenic treatment, while increasing the 2.25% hardness material, the aging treatment has led to 2% decrease in hardness. The applied heat treatments did not affect the yield and tensile strength of the material significantly. Moreover, the greatest damage was calculated in untreated samples in tests conducted with hemispherical impactor geometry.
