Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, information is given about non-destructive testing techniques (NDT) used in aircraft structures and materials and the Barkhausen NDT method (which is not widely used in the Aviation), and the application of the Barkhausen method for the landing gears of Boeing aircraft and the advantages and results of this method compared to other methods are examined. In aircraft maintenance, non-destructive testing (NDT) has a very important place in determining possible structural damages in aircraft. Since NDT inspections are applied regularly, they prevent very big material and moral losses since they provide early detection of possible structural damages and prevention of accidents that may occur due to these damages. Non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques used in aircraft structures and materials have been examined within the scope of this study. NDT applications are generally carried out on aircraft structures on site (Hangar or Ramp area) or under NDT Workshop conditions, taking into account the procedures of aircraft manufacturers and international NDT standards.
