An Applicability of the total quality management on the cooperative enterprises and the conceptual investigation on the Çukobirlik

IV ABSTRACT The recent rapid developments in technology and communication areas had gradually made competition provisions of business enterprises difficult, therefore business enterprises had appropriated Total Quality Management that projects maximum quality and minimum error by making changes in their constitution and organization culture. In spite of the fundamentals and methods of co-operative enterprises and total quality management that applied in a lot of sector has parallelism, it is known by the research that total quality management hasn't been applied in co-operative enterprises. This appears as a big lack considering the variety of activity areas of co-operative enterprises and the largeness of the corporation of co-operatives in world. In this study; the parallelism between the fundamentals and methods of co operative enterprises and the philosophy of total quality management is given, "Çukobirlik" (a agriculture sale co-operative) is chosen as a study field for feasibility, suitability of existing organization culture of "Çukobirlik" to total quality it is investigated and suggestions according to results are presented. In general sense, by putting into practice of total quality management in "Çukobirlik"; beneficial basis is determined in transition to total quality although there are some inadequacy existing organization culture.
