Abstract (EN)

Gender is a comprehensive discussion that contains behavioral roles, streotypes and hierarchical power relations. This discussion can be conducted on the expectations about daily life behaviors of men, women and other gender identities and individuals with sexual orientations; and also can be conducted on law, media, politics and more. In this context, it is possible to analyze refugee law within the gender debate. Indeed, women asylum seekers in particular are affected in various ways by gender norms. These impacts can be on women's asylum reasons and process; It may also be related to the determination of the international protection status to be granted to women asylum seekers. Thus, the analysis of the relationship between gender and women asylum seekers in various aspects is important for identifying the gendered areas of refugee law. Therefore, in this study; after defining international protection status in refugee law and determining the various effects of gender on female asylum seekers; the nature of the international protection status to be granted to women asylum seekers in international and domestic law will be discussed.
