Abstract (EN)
Cancer, is a fatal disease which is characterized by the uncontrolled proliferation, invasive qualification and metastasis of cells. There are various forms of cancer based on the source, type and formed place of the proliferating cells. In developed countries, it is the second cause of death after cardiovascular disease. Ellipticine is an antineoplastic agent, the mode of action of which is considered to be based on DNA intercalation and inhibition of topoisomerase II. We found that ellipticine also forms the cytochrome P450 (CYP)- mediated covalent DNA adducts. In this study, D ring of pyridocarbazole alkaloids conducted through the aromatic carbazole structure and new pyridocarbazole derivatives were synthesized by a result of aromatic electrophilic substitution reactions that may be topoizomerez II inhibitors. The structure analysis and characterisation of synthesized compounds were carried out by fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), proton (1H-NMR) and carbon (13C-NMR) nuclear magnetic rezonance techniques.
