Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out in open field conditions in the Bucak district of Burdur province in the spring of 2022. The effects of soil conditioner and biochar applications on dwarf green bean yield were investigated. "Bourgondia" cultivar and "GV-51" genotype belonging to Phaseolus vulgaris L. species were used as plant material. A commercial formula and biochar were used as soil conditioner in the study. Application doses were determined as 26 kg/da for soil conditioners. In the study, emergence time, first flowering date, emergence rate, pod length, pod thickness, pod width, pod weight, number of plants at harvest, pod yield per plot, pod yield per decare and pod yield per plant were investigated. SPSS statistical program was used to evaluate the obtained data. The aim of the study is to reduce the commercial fertilizer applications used in the cultivation of dwarf green beans under field conditions. As a result of the study, Bourgondia variety and GV-51 genotype were determined to have the longest pod length in commercial fertilizer with 15 cm. Bourgondia and GV-51 genotypes have the highest pod width in biochar fertilizer with 19 mm, and the effect of GV-51 genotype was determined to be important for the general averages of pod width. The pod thickness was 10.83 mm in the GV-51 genotype, and in the Bourgondia variety, it was obtained from biochar fertilizer with a maximum of 10.46 mm. The effect of application and variety on fresh broad bean yield per decare was found to be statistically insignificant. Fresh broad bean yield ranged from 1638.21 kg/da to 2552.5 kg/da. While the fresh broad bean yield per decare was 2243.48 kg/da in Bourgondia, it was recorded as 2075.63 kg/da in GV-51. As a result, the effect of fertilizer application on the fresh bean yield in the bean cultivar and genotype was determined to be insignificant. However, it is thought that the high fresh bean yields obtained are promising for further studies. KEYWORDS: Biochar, beans, soil conditioner, yields
