Abstract (EN)

Today, while the need for water increases rapidly, fluctuations in the form of an increase or decrease in water demand at various places and times can be observed. Accordingly, details regarding the determination and planning of the water budget in integrated basin management are also important. In this study, the hydraulic and hydrological properties of Torul Dam, which is one of the important water and energy resources of Gümüşhane, were examined during the operation phase after the project design, the effects of the hydraulic and hydrological properties of the dam were investigated which effect on the formation of water budget and based on these features, water budget were determined to contribute sustainable water use (water quality, aquaculture, energy production, tourism and water sports) at the dam lake. During the construction period of the Torul Dam and after the dam started to hold water, the settlements were submerged and the population affected and displaced by this situation was determined. In addition to these, in the study, considering the significant environmental impact of dams and their short lifetimes, in the context of the obligation to host different activities where economic benefit can be achieved at the highest level, what kind of activities (fishing, tourism and water sports) can be carried out and what kind of activities will be carried out in Torul Dam and its vicinity, in addition to these how the economic reflections of these will be is also discussed.
