The question here is handled by making a comparison between the cases that wound infection was diagnosed and the othersThe sampling was made up of 70 people. 35 of them have undergone hysterectomy operation between January and December in 2008 at gynecology and oncology clinics of the Zekai Tahir Burak Women Health Education and Research Hospital. These people have also suffered from wound infection. Another party was selected via simple random sampling at the same institutionResearch data was collected through "Patient Inquiry Form? and they were evaluated through the Statistics Package for Social Sciences (SPSSThe main variables to research wound infection were as follows: ?Personal Information? that informs us about socio-demographic characteristics of the patient; Diagnosis and Treatment? that includes justification for the operation and operational procedures; ?Story? that includes some characteristics that might effect Surgical Site Infection (SSI) formation, ?Conditions of Life? that enables us to understand household characteristics; ?Hygienic Situation? that informs us about whether the hand hygiene is sufficient or not; "Pre-operation period" that covers the risk factors for the operation; ?Information Level? that includes information about operation process and afterwards.; ?Post-operation Education? that informs us about the training period of the health staff; and ?Diagnosis of the Infection Indicators? that covers the indicators and the exact time of their realizationIn conclusion, the study findings show that personal characteristics and behaviors of the patients affect deeply the evolution of wound infection. In order to prevent misapplications, there is need for more comprehensive nursing care.
