Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effect of chrome carbide (O7C3) on abrasive wear of Fe-C-Mo- Cr7C3 composite produced by powder metallurgy, containing 3 wt.% Mo, 1,5 wt.% C and 4, 8, 12 wt.% Ferrochromium with the average particle size of 25 urn, 50um and 80um was investigated. In the experiments, microstnictures of the samples were examined by optic and Scanning electron microscopy, EDS (Energy Dispersive Spectrograph), X- ray diffraction method and microhardnes were measured. Wear resistances of samples were determined using different loads (ION, 20N, 30N) by pin on disc wear test machine developed for this experiment. In the experiments it has been found that with the increasing particle size of reinforcing element, wear rate increased and the 12 wt. % ferrocliromium reinforced sample showed the highest wear resistance in the experiment conditions. The study consists of six chapters. In the first chapter of study, introduction, literature related to the subject and purpose of study were given. In the second chapter, powder metallurgy was described. In the third chapter, the mechanisms of the wear, various wear types, measurement techniques and the factors affecting the wear were presented. In the fourth chapter, material and method were described. In the fifth chapter, the results were discussed and in the final chapter, general results and recommendation have been presented. Keywords: Powder metallurgy, ferrous based composites, abrasive wear.
