Abstract (EN)
The most important factors of air pollution are uncontrolled dust and gases released into the atmosphere. The air pollutant gases when they occur during production above certain limits cannot be exhaust to the outside. Air pollutants such as dust and smoke in the air are absorbed and filtered by the dust collection system and transferred to the outside environment. The large amount of dust produced by industrial works such as sending the material to other processes, crushing, mixing and packaging adversely affects human health and the environment. Dust collection systems are used in these environments to bring the amount of air pollutants to non-harmful levels. In this thesis, the types of dust collection systems were investigated in the first chapter. The parameters affecting the performance of the dust collection system were examined. As a result of the researches, a combined two-stage dust collection system was designed. The design was analyzed and compared to a classical dust collection system. Computational fluid dynamics analysis of the two systems were made. In the classical system of the dust collection unit, the air inlet is from the bottom, the air outlet is from the upper part, and the filters are positioned vertically. In the new system, an integrated two-stage dust collection system is designed. In this dust collection system, the air intake is made from the upper part and is directed to the pre-filtering mechanism. As a result of the analyzes, it is seen that the filter inner center air velocities in the dust collection system are 7.38 m/s in the classical system and 6.69 m/s in the newly designed system.
