Abstract (EN)

Our study was conducted with 142 participants who were senior medical students. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of body mass index, regular exercise habits and biceps muscle diameter on quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation. As a result of the study, it was determined that those with a high body mass index were successful in providing chest compression at the appropriate depth, but it was observed that as the body mass index increased, the appropriate chest cage relaxation decreased. The study has shown us that according to WHO recommendations, CPR can be performed with better quality in those who have regular weekly sports habits. When the relationship between biceps muscle diameter, which has not been studied before, and CPR quality markers was evaluated, a significant relationship was found between biceps muscle diameter and providing appropriate rib cage relaxation in women.
