Abstract (EN)

Propolis? a Latin word meaning any kind of defence that is a natural resinous product collected by bees from the plants. This natural product is effective in prevention of bee hives also thought to be effective in protecting human health. With this idea, scientists discovered that propolis has high potential and can be used both in medicine and pharmacy. Like the other Bee products such as propolis navigates Flora composition and Biological activity, the bee varies are depending on the types of many geographic features. The purpose of this study is to determine antioxidant capacity in Trabzon Region propolis and biological activity of propolis is appointed by phenolic compounds. At different pH, phenolic compounds of 17 different substances using standard reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) analysis protocathequic acid, p-OH benzoic acid, caffeic acid, p-coumaric acid, ferulic acid and quercetin were detected. Caffeic acid (2307.17 ? 2662.21 µg/g) was detected as the main component. In addition, results of the total polyphenols, according to the gallic acid standard of 253.40 mgGAE/g of propolis, FRAP antioxidant activity determination by the method of reference, 2162.39 ? molFeSO4/g of propolis, CUPRAC method for determination of antioxidant activity than trolox standard 3.92 mmol TEA/g of propolis. The radical scavenging DPPH radical scavenging assay at 50% of the amount of cleaning propolis (IC50) 0.025 mg/ml, respectively.Analysis findings of honey, pollen, propolis as well as other bee products and the other types of literature according to the oxidant of propolis of Trabzon region (antioxidant) were found to be higher than the capacity of prevention.
