Development of a software application for spatial analysis of traffic accidents

Abstract (EN)

The data, generated with spatial analysis of traffic accident, is valuable for traffic accidents preventing practices. In this study; a methodology and application software (Span) developed for querying autocorrelation between traffic accident point, correlation between traffic accident and spatial classes and also road network to spatial analyze of traffic accidents. Developed application software should make of point pattern analysis and calculate nearest neighborhood index, global, cross and local Ripley K values in both on planner and road network. After unit tests the application software tested with real world data to identification of periodic changes on spatial characteristics? of Batıkents? accidents. Batıkent study results shows the application software should be generate very valuable and new information like significant effects of traffic safety practices for school area on distribution traffic accidents in school area.
