Abstract (EN)

Operation technicians working in the electrical substations that are seen as the heart of the energy delivery systems with their growing numbers due to the growing energy need are exposed to magnetic fields as a part of their jobs. In this study, the expositions of the workers in terms of occupational health and safety were evaluated by gauss measurement in the various regions of Turkey's 31 different "154kV/34,5kV" electrical substations. Measurements were done in various points where the workers ranged according to their duties with TENMARS TM-192D triaxis gauss meter that makes measurements in low frequency levels. The results are categorized according to the measurement points. With the comparison results, in consideration of limit values determined by national and international regulations, high exposition regions for the operation technicians were detected. The highest exposition value was seen in front of the switchgear of the old type electrical substations. In order for decreasing the magnetic field expositions, it would be beneficial for the operation technicians to operate all transactions via remote control systems from the control room with the bounds of possibility of the advancing technology.
