Abstract (EN)
In this study, egg characteristics and quality criteria were investigated in pink dentex, Dentex gibbosus, which is the considered as potential candidate species in the recent years. In this sense, breeders spawned and obtained eggs were incubated at 19,5±0,3 °C. Also, hatching was observed at the end of the 39 hours and also hatching rate was %87,6±0,4. Diameters of egg and oil globule was measured as 0,728±0,056 mm and 0,144±0,002 mm, respectively. Additionally, some morphometric characteristics of egg square of egg, oil globule and yolk sac, with diameters of them were investigated and compared. As a result, characteristics of pink dentex egg were presented typical properties of Sparidae egg and also some characteristics such as ratio between egg diameter and yolk sac diameter was estimated nearly 1, has single oil globule which has spherical shape and homogenous could be considered that it is has quality criteria for requirements of optimal larviculture.
