Abstract (EN)

In this study, higher levels of free fatty acids (FFA), which is applied to the fish oil esterification and transesterification reactions. FFA levels in fish oil to reduce the esterification reaction, sulfuric acid and methanol are used in various proportions. FFA using catalyst 1% to 40% alcohol, 93% yield to give the product value of the six measured experiment. The product obtained is reacted NaOH catalyzed transesterification. Transesterification reaction temperature, time, amount of catalyst and alcohol were synthesized by changing the optimum conditions for fish oil methyl ester. Methanol was 20%, the catalyst concentration 0.5%, temperature 60 ºC reaction time was 120 minutes, 89.44% yield conditions produced fatty acid methyl ester. The resulting methyl ester some important fuel properties were measured. These features are measured in accordance with ASTM D6751 and EN-14214 standards observed.
