Abstract (EN)
Dhikr, which ensures the alertness of the heart, consciousness and mind, and enables the soul to evolve towards higher levels, is the most important Sufi practice in sufism. Dhikr, which is also seen as the heart of Sufism, has emerged as an ancient spiritual practice that has taken its place in different religious traditions in different ways. By including transpersonal psychology, spirituality and modern psychology, rooted in perennial philosophy, nourished by the ideas of William James and revolutionizing physics, and supporting its paradigm with modern science, transpersonal psychology, the transcendent dimension of human beings, and peak experiences that emerge with mystical experiences, into the field of psychology, By expanding the field of modern psychology, he tried to examine human holistic. Claiming that spiritual practices such as dhikr are important methods in transforming and developing human consciousness, transpersonal psychology has introduced the concept of different states of consciousness into psychology by revealing that consciousness is not limited to everyday consciousness with its studies on consciousness, which is considered taboo in psychology. In this study, we examined the transformative effect of dhikr on consciousness by considering the practice of dhikr within the framework of transpersonal psychology, and revealed the connection between transpersonal psychology and sufism, and discussed the common phenomena between them. We have obtained that both transpersonal psychology and sufism emphasize that man is a transcendent being, that transcendence is an important factor in man's way of becoming a universal human being, that dhikr is a unique method for man to get rid of the existential mold imposed by the modern world in which he is stuck, to transcend himself and to be well in terms of spiritual-physiological aspects demonstrated with data. Keywords: Dhikr, sufism, transpersonal psychology, consciousness, perennial philosophy, sufi psychology.
