Abstract (EN)
Turkish weavings, which have a long history, are one of our most important and valuable cultural assets that have been passed down from generation to generation for centuries. Weavings have been produced for two reasons today as in the past. The first is functionality and the second is aesthetic concerns. Weaving products, which are among the most important productions of the people of Çemişgezek villages, which provide their livelihood by feeding small cattle, have changed from history to the present day. Traditional weaving culture, which is indispensable for village life, is produced using different techniques according to the needs with very different and wide usage areas. Weavings have an important place in village life. The place of hand weaving in the historical process varies according to living conditions and location. The aim of this research is to determine the hand weavings in Tunceli Çemişgezek and to reveal their technical and material properties. In the research, information was obtained about the techniques, motifs, colors and materials used by interviewing those who made the weavings, and the local names given to these weavings and materials by the people living in the region were investigated. The findings and comments were evaluated and it was aimed to be included in the literature by creating a source for transferring to future generations.
