Abstract (EN)
In order to disturb the flow structure on the upper and lower surfaces of the horizontal parallel two plates, V-shaped corrugations are placed. Both numerical and experimental studies were conducted to investigate the effects of V-shaped corrugations on heat transfer and flow characteristics. While the temperature of the upper and lower walls of the channel is kept constant at 400 K, it is assumed that the fluid enters the system at 300 K and it is assumed that the fluid does not change the phase. The heights of the V-shaped corrugations are taken at H = 15 mm and the top angles are changed at three different angles, β, 60 °, 100 ° and 140 °. Reynolds number is taken as 10000, 15000 and 20000 values for turbulent flow. The same Reynolds number values were repeated for the flat plate in order to compare the results. Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis program was used in the numerical part of the study. In the first part of the numerical study, continuity, momentum and energy equations are solved together. In the second stage, only flow characteristics were determined with the equations mentioned without solving the energy equation. In the experimental part of the study, flow characteristics were obtained by Particle Visual Flow Measurement method in the water tunnel. As a result, it was observed that the heat transfer was significantly increased by the placement of the corrugation. In addition, the increase in the number of Reynolds, the heat transfer increased. In addition, by the increasing of the Reynolds number, surface friction coefficient values decreased.
