Abstract (EN)

In this master thesis, flow and heat transfer from horizontal tubes with turbulators has been investigated numerically. Thesis consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, the aim of the study and the results to be reached have been explained generally. In the second chapter, fundamental concepts which are in scope of this thesis and the calculation method have been explained. In the third chapter, studies that are related to our subject in the literature have been reviewed. In the fourth chapter, information about the methods of calculation in numerical solution were given. Basics of CFD analysis were emphasized and numerical solution methods used by software were explained. Before the numerical solution Shoji-Sato-Oliver?s models were designed by Solidworks 2005. Then problems were solved by using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) packet program FLUENT 6.2.16 which is using finite volume method, after their solution areas and meshes designed in GAMB?T 2.2.30 program. Heat transfer rate, Nu number and convective heat transfer coefficient values obtained numerically have been compared to experimental results. According to the numerical results velocity and heat transfer investigation was done. In different boundary conditions changes of velocity magnitudes, Reynolds and Nusselt numbers with non-dimensional parameters were investigated. In the fifth chapter conclusions and advices has been presented and according to the obtained results, new Re-Nu correlation was given. Key words: Turbulator, wire coil, twisted tape
